Volunteers are a valuable asset to our organization. They are the reason we can help more people while keeping our cost low. They also provide a welcoming environment for clients and staff.

Volunteer roles within Love Network of Baytown vary in responsibilities, interaction with clients, time commitment and computer capabilities.

Client Assistance Volunteer

Client Assistance Volunteers are the face of the organization. 


You would be the friendly welcome (over the phone) that clients would talk to first. We will train you on how to answer the phones and walk clients through the process. We want to be able to help as many people as possible!

Every day duties would be:

  • answering the phones

  • getting information from clients

  • signing them up for a food pantry time slots

  • referring them to other agencies

We are open Monday - Thursday 9am - 3pm and would love to have you come in for any amount of time.  Schedule a time to see what we are about!

Extreme Couponer

Do you have a need to get mega deals by couponing?  Is your stockpile full but still have the urge to save?

We are looking for someone experienced in couponing bulk hygiene and cleaning items!

We keep hygiene, cleaning, and baby products in stock to help those going through a rough time.  These days, there is a high demand for products and our stock can get low without consistent donations. 

So if you are a Coupon Wizard, let's team up! We provide funds and you provide time, skills, and coupons to help our community!

You can help us by:

  • Looking for local deals

  • Acquiring the appropriate amount of coupons

  • Assisting with the purchase of such items

You can have the thrill of a hunt for deals while giving back to your community. Join our team of volunteers to have a truly BIG IMPACT!

Hands of the Carpenter Committee Member

Do you have knowledge of small home repairs? Can you roughly evaluate what repairs are needed?

We have a program that helps elderly, disabled, or low income families with small home repairs!  We provide the materials and you can help with the repairs.  

Committee members will meet with clients at their home to evaluate the extent of the damage and what it will require to complete the fixes. Projects will then be approved by the Executive Director or the committee.  Members will organize volunteers to help with the work.  Working with office staff to track spending and filing documents for grant reimbursement.

Little Free Pantry

You've heard of a Little Free Library, but have you heard of a Little Free Pantry?

We are in need of someone to build/donate a cabinet that can withstand the outdoor elements and hold nonperishable foods that is easy for people to access...but not critters!

Cabinet should be about to hold about 60-75 canned items, rice, beans, box meals, etc.

Help Women Work!

Are you passionate about providing women the opportunity to go into the workforce?  Are you interested in helping single income - or NO income - households succeed?

Volunteers for Women Work will organize donated clothing, work with clients that may need assistance, and help with the boutique that supports the program as a shop clerk. 


Empower and support women by helping them be self-sufficient! 

Hands of the Carpenter Volunteer

Do you have knowledge of small home repairs? Are you willing to learn?

We have a program that helps elderly, disabled, or low income families with small home repairs! We provide the materials and you can help with the repairs. Members will work on approved projects and follow up with the client once the job is completed. 

We also have a specific need for a volunteer to serve as the screener to complete initial income qualification, pre-screening the home, data entry, assistance with customer contact, and invoicing for the CenterPoint Energy Agencies in Action (AIA).

Volunteer Grant Writer

We have so many ideas and need help to find the resources to make these BIG dreams come true!!! 


A volunteer grant writer is responsible for assisting with developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations and will persuasively communicate Love Network of Baytown's mission and programs to potential funders. 


  • Work with team to develop and implement an annual development plan/strategy to increase annual grant income

  • Develop/write grant proposals to foundations and grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating organization’s mission and programs to potential funders

  • Assemble/submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations

  • Conduct prospect research

  • Report progress in grant research, grant submission and outcome to Love Network of Baytown's leadership
